1. HOW TO PREPARE FOR A SURGERY UNDER LOCAL ANAESTHESIA?
Patients undergoing surgeries under local anaesthesia are required to get the following tests done:
- Blood count
- Basic coagulation tests (APTT, PT)
- Blood type
It is also recommended to vaccinate against hepatitis b. Women should not undergo major surgeries prior to and during menstruation.
It should be emphasised that since indications for plastic and cosmetic surgeries are of a subjective nature, a potential cosmetic benefit should not be achieved at the expense of health. It is necessary to inform your doctor about past and ongoing diseases, as well as the implemented treatment. Patients should avoid taking medications that reduce blood coagulation (e.g. anti-inflammatory analgesics, especially salicylates - e.g. Aspirin).
